Communication for Sustainable development
As part of its program Communication for Sustainable development, ACIDD has created the Summer University of communication for sustainable development.
Since 2003, the Summer University of the communication for sustainable development sets itself as an answer for the sector of communication (advertising, medias, lobbying...) to the questions arisen by the emergence of sustainable developement.
Tv programs dealing with ecology, massive campaigns for ONG or State, development of fair trade and responsable consuming... All these actions shows how important is becoming sustainable development in the medias.
However, the relation between the communication sector and the sustainable development sector has generally, been more distant than collaborative.
During two days,
the Summer University offers a place for debate and open discussion, gathering people from associations, NGOs, State authorities, companies, journalists. It aims at confront and compare ideas, but also to elaborate diagnostics and work on real proposals to tackle the environmental problems.
In 2007, the workgroups had to collectively prepare proposals for the upcoming political event which will take place in October in the Ministry of Sustainable planning and development, the "Grenelle" for the environment.
The event takes place every year, in Septembre, in a casual ambiance, in the Environmental Castle, in the heart of the Luberon Regional Nature park.
