ICT2008 - Europe's biggest event for ICT - Lyon, 25-27 November 2008

Setting the ICT research agenda for the next decade

The next ten years will see major transformations in the technological, industrial and business landscapes surrounding information and communication technologies, or "ICT". ICT 2008 will set the agenda for ICT research and innovation in Europe during this crucial decade.
The event will host leading visionaries from academia and industry and will address topics as diverse as Europe's role in shaping the future internet, ICT's contribution to advancing the sustainability agenda and alternative research paths for future ICT components and systems. These and many other cutting-edge themes will be explored in depth at ICT 2008.

ACIDD organizes a Networking session – 26 November 2008 – 2:00pm to 3:30pm on « Green and connected cities »

Networking sessions are designed to facilitate contacts between researchers, innovators and engineers from all ICT fields.

A new programme will be presented and you will be able to share experiences and good practices on new schemes around new city models, mobility, teleactivities based on the best uses of technology and sustainable development.


Cluster Green and Connected Cities
ACIDD and the Enterprise 2.0 Institute of the Grenoble School of Management will launch that day the « Cluster Green and Connected Cities », the gathering of 21 sustainable and connected cities and urban areas in Europe and the Mediterranean.
The goal is to test and build innovative and operational initiatives to support interconnected and sustainable cities for the 21st century through the appropriate use of collaborative and unified technologies.

At the heart of the city model, we will also look at issues on Energy Efficiency. The "European ICT network for Energy Efficiency ICT21-EE - Competitiveness and Innovation Programme" was launched on the 1st of October 2008. The first meeting of the Steering Committee Board will take place in Lyon during ICT2008.


European ICT network for Energy Efficiency ICT21-EE - Competitiveness and Innovation Programme

The European thematic network “ICT for energy efficiency” aims at federating a wide variety of stakeholders initially from 10 European countries to develop common understanding of good practices in the field of ICT applied to energy efficiency in cities. The programme will gather around three topics: buildings, transportation and improvement of citizen behaviours regarding energy consumption.
