ICT21-EE inaugural conference, 18 March 2009

The Committee of the Regions in Brussels is to host the inaugural conference of the European thematic network ICT21-EE on 18 March 2009; it is managed by ACIDD.
This European ICT for Energy Efficiency network aims at federating a wide variety of stakeholders from 10 European countries to develop a common understanding of good practice in the field of ICT as applied to energy efficiency in cities.

Following on from the project’s official launch at the international ICT2008 event, which took place in Lyons at the end of November, the morning plenary session of the inaugural conference of ICT21-EE will be used to set the priorities and general objectives which all participants must achieve. The afternoon will be given over to the network’s three working groups (1. ICT for energy efficiency in buildings; 2. ICT for energy efficiency in transports; 3. ICT as catalyst of change in user behaviours) in which the various participants involved will identify the key issues and determine the schedule for the subsequent months. Rounding off the inaugural conference will be another plenary session addressing the conclusions of the day.

The conference is targeted at towns, cities and local authorities.
