EICTA responds to climate change with the creation of the « Environment Policy group »
EICTA, whose philosophy, as its signature indicates, is « creating a digital Europe » stands for: European Industry Association for Information Systems, Communication Technologies and Consumer Electronics.
This association was set up in 1999 under the impetus of two key European federations that bring together businesses in the information and telecommunication industry.
EICTA, that today represents 10 000 European businesses, created the « Environment Policy group » to ensure that industry in new technology is equally interested in economic growth, the protection of the environment and social development. There are three themes that are intrinsically linked that impact every sector in society. The EPG (Environment Policy group) works to insure that ICT industry respects environmental legislation whilst maintaining economic development. This objective will be achieved by creating new energy conserving products. The EPG works in three areas, one that deals in treating waste, one in chemicals and one in eco-design.
